Annesofie & Thomas first met in Aarhus at Restaurant René. As Annesofie got a job at a restaurant “Die Ente vom Lehel..” in Germany, Thomas was convinced that he was not going with her.

But the ways of love are past understanding, and suddenly Thomas found himself as head of the fishing party, in the very place where he had sworn he would never go. 

Since then the duck has followed Annesofie and Thomas as a personal symbol of love, quality, and all good feelings.

The beginning of that which is now a large collection of ducks of all shapes and sizes, started with Restaurant Gråanden in Frederikshavn. When we in the year 2000 – having recently been honoured with the title as “Chef of 2000” - took over Munkebo Kro, which did not have a logo or a symbol as such, we happily chose to call it: “Anden” which in English would be “The Duck”.







2001:
Won the Eiler Jørgensen award – the biggest gastronomic achievement in Denmark
4th place at the Nordic Championships

2002:
“Man of the Year in Munkebo” – Thomas won that title

2003:
Anden was nominated as the “Restaurant of the Year”

Awarded “Main Dish of the Year” – Danish Calf in variation
Given 3 stars and a sun in “Den Danske Spiseguide” – the Danish Restaurant Guide

2004:-2007

Nominated and won the title as “Restaurant of Year 2004”

Diploma of Honour from “The Gastronomic Academy” in culinary skills

2005 – 2006 – 2007:
Awarded the so-called “Guldsnegl” in “the Danish SlowfoodGuide”

2006 and 2007
Nominated as “Hotel and Restaurant” of the year

Awarded the best “Avec-card” of the year

2007
Thomas Pasfall was nominated as this year´s “outstanding native of Funen” by “Fyens Stiftstidende” – a Danish newspaper.

2008
Nominated in the ”Best Innovative Food Book 2007”
Thomas Pasfall – ”Mit Fynske Køkken” – a book by Thomas Pasfall´s about his native Funen and his inspiration in local produce and tradition

2008-2009
Restaurant Anden -  along with the complete experience - was in top 10 of Denmark’s Best Restaurants.

Euroman 2010
The Restaurant Duck hase been rewarded one of the five best restaurants in Denmark.
